🌿Inchplant (Tradescantia zebrina)
🌿Mother of Thousands (Kalanchoe laetivirens)
SPECIAL NOTE: There are several different "Mother of" (Thousands/Millions) plants which are all closely related. There is also much confusion and misinformation on the internet in reference to these plants. Kalanchoe laetivirens is the Mother of Thousands. Kalanchoe daigremontiana (a close relative) is also often found with the common name Mother of Thousands. Adding to the confusion is the debate as to whether they are Kalanchoe or Bryophyllum and if Bryophyllum is a new genus or a subspecies of Kalanchoe. CLICK HERE for an excellent photo ID for the Kalanchoe genus.Additionally, I am frequently asked about the cancer research involving Kalanchoe. Two of those published papers can be found HERE and HERE. *If you love Kalanchoe as I do and feel compelled to grow them, I must ask that you please consider only growing them indoors, as they are extremely invasive (especially the "mother of" varieties). They can easily take over a large area quickly with their "thousands/millions" of babies.
